Alaskan asks help on Riteway stove
Webmaster’s note: This may be our first Buzz post from Alaska. Can someone with knowledge of Riteway stoves help this person?
I’m looking for info on the old Riteway Manuf. Co. that was located- from what I’ve read- in your community. Specifically, I’m looking for parts and knowledge of a stove I bought from Riteway 24 years ago: the Riteway Omni 2 Wood-Oil Pack. I live in a small village in central Alaska and we have, basically, no technicians or department stores here. If I could get a name or adress of somebody who might know anything about the stove or the company it would help alot. Thanks,
Dave Diehl

You might look at the following website:
http://www.co.larimer.co.us/building/WoodStoveList.PDF
This is a link provided by the Riteway-Dominion Mfg. Co., 1680 Country Club Rd., Harrisonburg, VA 22801, 703/434-3800
Or if that does not work try:
Riteway Manufacturing Co., Inc.
Dept. WE, 100 Triangle Dr.
P.O. Box 99
Weyers Cave, Virginia 24486
703-234-WARM This was on a PDF file from the internet from a pamphlet for the Riteway Model 37 wood and coal heater. Don’t know if either of these companies are still in business.

I sure am having a hard time finding some info on a riteway 37 too. Can’t get any info. on how to install a combuster for it. I think I’d need some other parts to install it. The stove I have is like new and I want to use it, but with a combuster in it. There isn’t any of the usual equipment or parts in the stove for the combuster, as far as I can figure out. I write to the people who sell the combuster, metioning that I want to buy one an ask for any info on where to buy, or make parts, for the stove, and they write back saying, “So we don’t sell the stove parts.” That’s all. I guess they are slightly stupid! It’s frustrating. I’ll chop the stove up and junk it out next.

I live just outside of Harrisonburg, VA where the Riteway company used to be. They have been out of business for a number of years. You might get some help from Acme Stove at 540-433-9181.
