With July 4th and the Lawn Party coming up, I thought it would be fun to find out what kind of barbecue our Buzz regulars like best. Cast your vote in the poll at the upper right of this page and have a look at the results. (This is all taken very seriously in North Carolina, where the eastern part of the state goes for oil-vinegar sauce and the western part insists on a tomato-based sauce. Your webmaster, upon first arriving in the Valley years ago after growing up in the Deep South, didn’t like “BBQ chicken,” which always had a burnt tomato sauce on the outside — but instantly became a fan of “chicken barbecue,” made with the Montezuma Ruritan recipe.)

The poll on the Bridgewater Bypass showed a plurality in favor of Option A (Rescue Squad to just north of Turner Ashby), the next-largest group in favor of the “No Build” option, and the least support for Option B (Rescue Squad to near Dayton). There is no claim that any of these polls are a valid or reliable sample.
