Dennis “Chip” Taylor Scholarship Fund
From the webmaster: Over at the main site, there’s information on the Dennis “Chip” Taylor Scholarship Fund. As you’ll recall, he was the firefighter killed, along with his wife and stepdaughter, on Oct. 23 in West Virginia. Taylor’s partner Tyler Jessup sent me this information:
Chip was my work partner for about two years and he and I were very close. Best friends would be a mild description of our relationship. He was more like a brother. He was still relatively new to his profession, however, he was very dedicated and excelled in helping people more than most seasoned veterans. He was a joy to be around and had a love for life, his job, his family, his friends, and the people he served. His accent was unmatchable and his laugh and smile were very infectious. I cannot begin to give justice to the person he was. In the time that he worked Fire and Rescue he helped many people in all areas of Rockingham County. I can think of no better way to carry on his memory than to help others begin a career to take up what he stood for and help people.
Jessup adds that donors may give by going to any Farmers & Merchants Bank and depositing into the Dennis “Chip” Taylor Memorial Scholarship Fund. Or, he reports, they may make a check payable to Dennis “Chip” Taylor Memorial Scholarship Fund and mail it to:
