Best Buy to Harrisonburg?
Far from the grapevine as I am, I can’t claim much originality for this rumor, but here it is and totally unconfirmed: Best Buy will be opening a location in Harrisonburg Crossing (in the space formerly occupied by Circuit City).

Well I really hope it does happen. I don’t know much about that store, but it would certainly present an opportunity for more jobs. I know I’m really getting tired of this “Suzy Homemaker” thing

Is this the deep discount store that requires memberships costing several thousand dollars?

no it is a circuit city like store. big box electronics. very competently done and excellent prices but otherwise nothing out of the ordinary.

I’ve shopped in both Circuit Cities and Best Buys. Much prefer Best Buy. Have a higher quality of merchandise and I liked their service.

I visited Best Buy down in the Roanoke area and was very impressed on a walkthrough. It was easy, from what I saw, to understand why they would out-compete Circuit City. Somehow the store was lighter (not just lighting but also the attitude of the sales people).

What’s going to be built next to McDonalds?

I would like to see Aldi’s grocery store and Five Below come to town.

I was in the store in Cville, they confirmed one IS coming to Harrisonburg! The two clerks that were assisting me with my purchase are unfamiliar with street names, thus could not tell me the address. They did say they will occupy a building that is already standing, another business that has left.
If I find it on the web, I’ll post the link that gives the News Release.

I’m not a big fan of Best Buy. I’ve only been in the store one time in C’ville and it didn’t really impress me. I thought all their prices were much higher than I could find elsewhere. They might have good deals on larger electronics (TV’s, DVD, Blu-Ray) but in terms of movies and such, they were a lot higher than places like Wal-Mart and KMart. I doubt I will do much shopping at this new store. My question is, when is Harrisonburg going to get an Olive Garden!! Shoot, I would settle for one in Stauton, Waynesboro, or C’ville. Right now, we have to drive to either Roanoke, Lynchburg, or Winchester if we want to eat there.
