positive note on race
i dont want to make too much of this. but did you notice the reception of the golfers at the masters as they came up the 18th fairway sunday. cheers and applause for all at a golf club that was segregated for a long time. and the leaders included a black american two asians several brits etc. i am not a huge golf fan but i enjoyed everything about the final round. including lots of good shots.

Good point. Another thing to notice is that there were no racial offsets or quotas at the Masters (for example, no 2-stroke penalty for being Asian). It was strictly on merit. The leaders earned the crowd’s respect on a challenging course. As for the history of segregation at August National, I too am glad we’re well past that bad time in our country’s history.

I enjoyed watching Mickelson win his third green jacket. Neat guy even though I used to enjoy watching Tiger Woods play. But he wasn’t a very graceful looser this time.
