The Tape
Ministry
The Tape Ministry is a nonprofit
Christian organization that distributes teaching,
music and worship tapes free of charge. It
operates on donations. Elvin L. Miller served as
founder and president of the ministry for many
years.
Elvin reported on the
origins of the Tape Ministry:
"My wife gave me a little tape player for
Christmas in 1973. It was in using this player
that I really became interested in tapes. I
enjoyed it so much and learned so much about the
Bible by listening to tapes that I wanted to see
other people have this opportunity too."
"Then it came to me what a great thing this would
be for the shut-ins. So the ministry was founded
originally to take worship service and music tapes
to shut-ins and was incorporated January 28,
1976."
Today the Tape Ministry's
efforts include:
- Shut-in ministry,
making tapes available.
- Prison ministry, to
visit prisoners as time permits.
- Church libraries of
tapes.
- Missions ministry.
